Question by fderrico: Why is experian telling me to dispute with the debt collector after mailing in a dispute letter?
I filed an online dispute with experian it came indorsed verified. So now it won’t let me dispute it online any more unlike transuion so I submitted a dispute letter and the reply was experian recommends contact the debt collector? What is this am I not able to ever ask them to verify the debt again because it came supported verified once?

Best answer:

Answer by bud68
Experian is the crappiest of the three bureaus and has a reputation for this. Their idea of “verifying” a debt is to ask the creditor if what they submitted was correct and take the creditor’s “yes” at face value. They don’t require the creditor to actually produce any verification documentation.

Experian Teams with Citi to Provide SEPA Data Conversion Service

Experian Teams with Citi to Provide SEPA Data Conversion Service

Rugby, England (PRWEB) November 4, 2009

Experian, the global information services company, is partnering with Citi to provide an automated International Bank Account Number (IBAN) and Bank Identifier Code (BIC) conversion and validation service for SEPA-compliant cross-border payments. While Experian’s Data Conversion Service will be delivered across all 31 countries in the SEPA region, the partnership also extends to Citi customers initiating payments to and from the SEPA area from anywhere in the world.

Use of SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT) and SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) schemes requires corporates to submit a valid BIC IBAN (http://www.experianpayments.com/bic-iban.html ) for all EU cross-border Credit Transfers and, from November 2009, for all direct debit payments. Additionally, several European countries have adopted the IBAN as part of their own domestic payment standard. In order to enable Citi’s customers to take advantage of the SCT and SDD schemes, the IBAN and BIC Conversion (http://www.experianpayments.com/industry-hub/bic-and-iban-conversion.html ) service will ensure customer databases are as accurate and complete as possible.

Experian will check, validate and convert existing domestic BBANs (Basic Bank Account Numbers) to the required IBAN and BIC standard in bulk, enabling customers to avoid rejection or failed payments, thereby reducing transaction costs and improving straight through processing of payment instructions. In addition, the bank’s customers will be able to identify invalid records that require further or correct information to be obtained or verified, including invalid account numbers and closed bank branches.

Ruth Wandhöfer, EMEA Head of Payment Strategy & Market Policy Global Transaction Services at Citi, commented: “Submitting invalid data when making a payment can be costly for corporates and their customers. However, by teaming up with Experian to ensure bank account details are converted into the right format, we will enable our customers to reduce the cost of correcting rejected payment information. In addition, the service enables us and our customer base to be ready for the introduction of SEPA Direct Debits in November 2009.”

Jonathan Williams, Director of Product Development and Strategy at Experian Payments, added: “Experian’s conversion service is already used by many of the world’s leading organisations to check their data, convert their data and then keep their data clean. By partnering with Citi, Experian is enabling a growing number of the world’s biggest businesses to make SEPA payments, while at the same time helping the bank to improve its operational efficiency.”

About Experian Payments:
Experian Payments develops global strategic payment software solutions and services to meet the requirements of the world’s leading banks and corporate organisations. Online Commerce Gets a Boost with Experian and Microsoft Partnership

Online Commerce Gets a Boost with Experian and Microsoft Partnership

(Vocus) December 12, 2007

In a move to make online commerce safer for consumers and businesses alike, Experian® and Microsoft have developed a proof of concept identity management service through Microsoft Windows CardSpace™. As ID fraud activity intensifies, this service streamlines identity authentication and provides a safer and simpler way to pay online.

The identity management serve will enable organisations to dramatically reduce the customer sponsored resources needed for web-founded activity, such as resetting forgotten passwords. Simultaneously, consumers have a better customer experience as they are involve to remember fewer verification details and are able to rely on Experian, a trusted third party, to verify that the organisation they are dealing with is bona fide.

At the outset, Experian verifies both individuals and organisations via a straightforward registration and ID authentication process. Once this process is complete, organisations and individuals are able to communicate, reassured that both parties are legitimate.

Windows CardSpace runs on the consumer’s computer desktop and acts as an identity selector to enable the individual to better command what information they choose to share online and with whom. For example, if an individual wants to renew their car insurance, they select their ‘Experian Card’, which would contain confirmation of identity details and age plus, in this instance, other facts that form separating of money laundering legislation. Windows CardSpace then sends a request to Experian, the identity provider, to validate the identity of the website.

Once the requesting website is identified, Experian then formed and returned a signed and encrypted ‘token’, which contains a confidence level as to whether that person exists and is who they say they are to Windows CardSpace and thence to the website.

All interactions between the individual, Experian and the organisation are encrypted and digitally signed to protect the information from many forms of data and identity attack.

“As online security tries to keep up with ever-evolving ID fraud tactics, consumers are having to create multiple passwords to transact online,” said Paul MacKinnon, Senior Identity Advisor, Microsoft UK. “Consumers are overwhelmed with the plethora of passwords and user names they are expected to remember and are reverting to offline transactions. Businesses are also looking for ways to ensure the public are in a safe environment when online to improve the customer experience and protect web-based transactions.”

“There is growing awareness concerning the safety of transacting online as consumers become more aware of threats to the security of their identity such as phishing and pharming,” said Peter Brooker, Director at Experian. “Combined with the fact that the public are increasingly buying from Internet-merely retailers that may not be good-known brands in order to procure the better deals, consumers are going more related about who they are purchasing from and seeking reassurance that the organisation they are dealing with is logical. This service will work both ways, validating the consumer and the organisation’s credentials, delivering a more procure and less trying online experience for all.

“We believe there will be enormous demand for such a service from both organisations and consumers so we are now taking the proof of concept to the next stage and are already in discussion with a number of organisations. We will be in a position to demonstrate it to organisations, with the ultimate intention of launching an Identity Management Service in the near future.”

CreditScoreQuick.com Now Offers Free Information on Consumer Credit Repair and Assistance

CreditScoreQuick.com Now Offers Free Information on Consumer Credit Repair and Assistance

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 24, 2008

CreditScoreQuick.com, created by a professional lender, recently introduced a series of articles dedicated to helping consumers learn how to repair their credit histories and lower credit risk, absolutely free of charge, through an online blog at CreditScoreQuick.com/blogger.htm. Recent topics in the blog include:

Rental and foreclosure collections and what it means in today’s housing market. How consumers can determine their credit score at no cost and what it means for their financial planning. How to avoid, or recover from, financial identity theft. Before the recent housing crunch and increasing foreclosure rates, many consumers were unconcerned about their negative credit history, and banks were eager to get loans approved for customers. In order to receive quick loan approval, customers with negative credit histories were ripe for credit repair company’s assistance. According to CreditScoreQuick.com owner, Mike Clover, “During the real estate boom, credit repair companies were beating down my door for clients that needed credit restoration. We tried all kinds of companies who stated that they could help our clients out.”

Over time, Clover realized these companies were not doing anything demurring taking clients money. The fees these so-called credit repair companioned charged consumers averaged $ 1,000 or more. “Being lenders during this extremely busy time, we did not have the time to repair our client’s credit reports, so we outsourced it. After exhausting just about every credit repair company in town, we decided to start directly helping clients repair their credit through our new company, CreditScoreQuick.com,” says Clover.

“We knew what needed to be done to help out individuals and families who were facing financial trouble so we started posting how to repair your credit articles on our Web site blog,” continues Clover. “Since we had first-hand experience in how to really fix credit reports, we decided to post our first hand experience on the web for free.”

When it comes to learning about credit and making sound financial decisions, may consumers find themselves buried in confusing information that doesn’t make sense, or even contradicts information from other sources. “We found that most people had fallen prey to credit repair scams because they were desperate for help,” Clover says. “Credit repair is just better money management education, and education on what affects your credit worthiness.”

According to CreditScoreQuick.com, no one can completely remove a debt they owe from their credit report. Many people have heard the “100 percent removal” sales pitch from credit repair companies so many times, that they truly believe it. But then they find out it is just a sales pitch designed to get them to register and spend anywhere from $ 1,000 to $ 2,000.

The results have been documented all over the Web announcing credit repair companies facing investigation and possible fines by the FTC and the Better Business Bureaus for not delivering what they promised.

So CreditScoreQuick.com took the liberty to show people what it takes to repair their credit report themselves. As part of their ongoing credit repair education series, CreditScoreQuick.com has begun posting better credit management education articles in a series of daily blogs. “Our top priority is to show the American people how important it is to mange your credit so you don’t get in financial trouble. If you have found yourself in trouble with your credit, you can repair your credit report through our site absolutely free, with no strings attached,” states Clover.

For additional information on repairing credit, e-mail CreditScoreQuick.com and they will respond to questions within 24-hours with a post on their company blog. CreditScoreQuick.com offers a full range of credit tools for consumers who wish to lower their credit risk including personal loan and mortgage applications, free credit reports, credit monitoring and identity theft protection.
